El artículo parte de una reflexión nacional que se ha dado acerca de la importancia y las posibilidades de la educación en la situación de conflicto, violencia y barbarie que atraviesa la sociedad colombiana. La educación ciudadana se ha mostrado como una de las propuestas educativas que más pueden aportar en la construcción de una sociedad distinta. Aquí realizamos un análisis de la perspectiva oficial de la educación ciudadana, la cual se enmarca en los estándares básicos de competencias ciudadanas impartidos por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional, contrastándola con el contexto general de la política educativa colombiana de los últimos años. Para luego analizar, con el fin de presentar las dos lógicas que subyacen a ambas tendencias, la opción de reactualizar una educación ciudadana crítica que convierta la escuela en un espacio público deliberativo en aras de la construcción de una sociedad verdaderamente democrática. The article begins with a national debate that has been given about the importance and potential of education in the conflict, violence and barbarism which crosses the Colombian society. Citizenship education has proven to be one of the educational proposals that can best contribute in building a different society. Here we make an analysis of the official view of citizenship education, which is part of the basic standards of citizenship skills taught by the Ministry of Education, contrasting with the general context of Colombian education policy in recent years. Then analyzed in order to present the two logics behind both trends, the option to retrain critical citizenship education that the school becomes a deliberative public space for the sake of building a truly democratic society.
