Efecto de una intervención nutricional de investigación-acción en el Índice de Calidad de la Dieta Global de adolescentes colombianos

dc.description.abstractLas estrategias para abordar las necesidades nutricionales de las adolescentes y las mujeres jóvenes a menudo se centran en la administración de suplementos. En este estudio, se llevó a cabo un enfoque de investigación-acción que involucró una intervención de educación nutricional y emprendimiento entre adolescentes y mujeres jóvenes en barrios pobres de Medellín, Colombia. El grupo de intervención aumentó significativamente su ingesta de varios nutrientes, incluyendo energía, proteínas, grasas totales, grasas saturadas, grasas monoinsaturadas, grasas poliinsaturadas, colesterol, fibra dietética, calcio, zinc y vitaminas A, B2, B3, B9 y C. Se observó un aumento significativo en la ingesta de grupos de alimentos saludables (otras frutas, otras verduras, legumbres, productos lácteos con alto contenido de grasa), acompañado de una disminución en el consumo de algunos grupos de alimentos poco saludables (dulces y helados). Una regresión multivariada que controló la edad, el nivel socioeconómico, la ocupación, la Escala de Hambre en el Hogar, la probabilidad media de suficiencia, la actividad física y la autopercepción corporal mostró que la intervención nutricional mejoró el GDQS total en un 33% en el grupo de intervención, una mejora sustancial a pesar de las precarias condiciones sociales y económicas del grupo de estudio. Se concluye que los modelos de educación nutricional y emprendimiento basados en este enfoque pueden mejorar el perfil dietético de esta población y reducir las presiones futuras de las enfermedades crónicas relacionadas con la nutrición.spa
