Esta investigación busca contribuir por un lado, a caracterizar los nuevos discursos sobre la institucionalidad, que han marcado las tendencias educativas contemporáneas, y por otro, a observar la forma como se materializan o no en un contexto específico, en este caso, la Institución Educativa Departamental (IED) Nuestra Señora de la Gracia, ubicada en el municipio de Bojacá – Cundinamarca. Lo hace a partir de su incorporación en el programa de Educación para Jóvenes y Adultos en edad extraescolar (EDJA). Los hallazgos que posibilitan la investigación se convierten en un referente para el diseño de políticas públicas en EDJA y, así mismo, aportan elementos para diseñar propuestas o lineamientos que contribuyan a la configuración de una Educación Básica para adultos y jóvenes, basada en la equidad, la participación y la democracia.
